ISLAMABAD, Jan 20 (Gwadar Pro) – The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police, in collaboration with the Chinese Embassy in Islambad, inaugurated the sixth phase of a Chinese language course for police officers on Monday. The program, held under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), aims to bridge communication gaps and enhance security coordination.

The course is designed to equip personnel with basic Mandarin proficiency while fostering cultural sensitivity. Beyond immediate linguistic skills, the program serves as a pillar for expanded educational and cultural cooperation between the two nations’ law enforcement agencies.

This training follows a high-level meeting on January 7 in Beijing between Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi and Chinese Minister for Public Security Wang Xiaohong. During those talks, both sides finalised a joint strategy to enhance the professional capacity of police forces and discussed “sister-city” cooperation between Islamabad and Beijing.

The ongoing language initiatives are part of a broader framework of people-to-people exchanges aimed at ensuring the smooth execution of CPEC Phase II projects by improving direct interaction between local security forces and Chinese stakeholders
