Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, has urged senior Party officials to secure a strong and successful start to the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026–2030).
Xi made these remarks after reviewing the annual work reports recently submitted to the CPC Central Committee and to him by senior Party leaders.
Those submitting reports included members of the Political Bureau and the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee; members of the leading Party members groups of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, the State Council, and the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference; as well as the secretaries of the leading Party members groups of the Supreme People’s Court and the Supreme People’s Procuratorate.
Xi called on these officials to consistently align themselves with the central Party leadership in terms of thinking, political stance, and actions, and to take practical measures to ensure the full implementation of the Party’s decisions and plans.
He emphasized that officials should proactively shoulder responsibilities within the scope of their duties and strictly enforce the central Party leadership’s eight-point decision on improving conduct, along with its detailed implementation rules.
Xi also urged them to set an example in establishing and practicing a sound understanding of governance performance, and to deliver concrete results that benefit the people through diligent and dedicated efforts.
Furthermore, he stressed the importance of fostering a clean, disciplined, and upright political environment.
