Local hockey players in Peshawar marked the 75th anniversary of Pak-China friendship with great enthusiasm, as Baghdada Hockey Club Mardan defeated Islamia College University Peshawar 4-2 in an exhibition match organized by China Window.
The match drew a large crowd of hockey fans, who enthusiastically cheered and raised slogans celebrating the friendship between Pakistan and China. It was a closely contested game, with both sides displaying impressive skill and competitive spirit, but Baghdada Hockey Club ultimately emerged victorious.
The Vice Chancellor of Islamia College University, Professor Dr. Ahmad Ur Rahman Saljoqi, attended the event as the chief guest. In his remarks, he extended congratulations to the people of China on the 75th anniversary of Pak-China friendship, describing China as a long-standing and reliable partner of Pakistan. He noted that the enduring ties between the two countries are a matter of pride for the Pakistani nation.
He also invited university sports teams from China to visit Pakistan, assuring them of warm hospitality and opportunities to further strengthen sports cooperation.
Both players and spectators at the event praised the Pak-China friendship as enduring and unbreakable. Afsar Khan, captain of the Islamia College University team, said he felt honored to lead his team on such a meaningful occasion and expressed confidence that the relationship between the two countries would continue to grow stronger.
Similarly, Murad Khan, captain of Baghdada Hockey Club Mardan, appreciated China Window for organizing the match and congratulated the Chinese people and the hockey community on this significant milestone.
Meanwhile, a football match is scheduled for next week under the auspices of China Window as part of the ongoing celebrations.
