The Pak-China Friendship Hospital, operated by the Indus Hospital and Health Network under the Gwadar Development Authority, organized a one-day free medical camp on Wednesday, providing mental health consultations and treatment to local residents without any cost.
The camp was led by UK-based psychologist Dr. Naeem ur Rehman Khan, who examined patients and offered expert consultations. A large number of residents, including men, women, and children from across the city, participated in the initiative.
According to an official statement, more than 50 patients received free checkups, psychological consultations, treatment, and medications. The services focused on addressing mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, substance abuse, and related issues.
The camp was organized under the direction of Moin ur Rehman, aiming to improve access to mental health services in Gwadar. It forms part of broader efforts to strengthen community healthcare and promote awareness about mental well-being in the region.
Dr. Affan Faiq Zada emphasized that mental health can no longer be overlooked and highlighted the importance of continued outreach programs. He noted that similar initiatives will be conducted in the future to expand access to essential healthcare services.
With its wide range of specialized departments, steady patient inflow, and provision of free medicines, diagnostics, and inpatient care, the Pak-China Friendship Hospital has increasingly established itself as a key healthcare facility in Gwadar and the wider Makran division, playing a vital role in delivering accessible and quality medical services in the region.
