Ambassador Jiang Zaidong Meets with Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar

Pakistan and China have reaffirmed their commitment to close coordination on regional peace and stability, with both sides emphasizing dialogue and diplomacy as the preferred means to address tensions in the Middle East.

The understanding was reached during a meeting on June 22 between Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong and Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, during which they exchanged views on bilateral relations and the evolving regional situation.

During the meeting, Dar briefed the Chinese envoy on the latest developments in talks between Iran and the United States held in Switzerland. He thanked China for its firm support for Pakistan’s diplomatic mediation efforts and appreciated Beijing’s constructive role in promoting regional stability.

Dar said President Xi Jinping’s four-point proposition provides a Chinese approach to achieving lasting peace and stability in the Middle East and the Gulf region. He added that the China-Pakistan Five-Point Initiative has offered important support to Pakistan’s mediation efforts.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to the bilateral partnership, Dar said Islamabad is ready to further deepen the China-Pakistan All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership, maintain close communication and coordination with Beijing, and work together to promote enduring peace and stability in the region.

Ambassador Jiang commended Pakistan’s sustained diplomatic efforts to facilitate dialogue and reduce regional tensions. He reiterated that China attaches great importance to strengthening the China-Pakistan All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.

The ambassador said China is prepared to continue working closely with Pakistan to implement President Xi’s four-point proposition and the China-Pakistan Five-Point Initiative, encourage all relevant parties to pursue dialogue and negotiations, and support efforts aimed at restoring peace and stability in the region at the earliest opportunity.
