Under the Gwadar Smart Port City Master Plan 2026, the Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) has finalized a planning framework that divides the city into 14 neighborhoods (towns), which will be developed in different phases.
GDA officials shared details of this framework during a key meeting focused on micro-planning and land-use arrangements for the Gwadar Smart Port City Master Plan 2026. The meeting was chaired by Director General Moin ur Rehman Khan on March 3 and attended by Chief Engineer Haji Syed Muhammad and Director Town Planning Shahid Ali.
A GDA official told Gwadar Pro that the meeting reviewed five implementation models for executing the master plan. These include land acquisition with compensation, land pooling and sharing, land-provider partnerships, collaborative land development, and a framework for private development schemes. The updated planning structure also designates specific areas for residential, commercial, and mixed-use development, along with road networks and public facilities.
The Director General noted that private sector participation will be encouraged to ensure the effective execution of the micro-planning strategy. He emphasized that the authority remains committed to transforming Gwadar into a modern, smart, and sustainable port city aligned with international standards.
He further stated that practical steps are being taken to provide investors with secure and profitable opportunities, particularly in the real estate, tourism, and trade sectors, while also maintaining a strong environment of investor confidence.
